Last summer fans of When Calls the Heart, Hallmark Channel’s wildly popular drama, were delighted with the premiere of a spinoff series, When Hope Calls. The only catch was, Hearties had to subscribe to Hallmark Movies Now, the network’s streaming service that is home to a collection full classic movies and series from the beloved television behemoth. It does require a paid subscription, so not feasible for all, necessarily. And some Hearties may have been left out of the joy of watching sisters Lillian and Grace open and run an orphanage in the small Northwest town of Brookfield.

But, fear not fans of 1900s period American dramas with a Hallmark spin, last month everything changed. When Hope Calls has “come home,” as the network describes in promotional ads. WHC is now airing on Sunday nights on Hallmark Channel right after When Calls the Heart. It’s a two-hour double dose for all of you Hearties. Don’t worry if you didn’t subscribe and stream the series on Hallmark Movies Now, the TV airings started from the beginning and we are only up to episode three, so it’s early enough to jump right in with the story. The kind folks at Hallmark have given us a sneak peek clip of this week’s installment, “Out of the Past,” (see clip above) and tensions are high in Brookfield. After a fire, Gabriel, played by Ryan-James Hatanka, is investigating who might have caused it. The hunt for a suspect and leads him to discover “a new layer to the crime that sheds light on a feud in town,” Hallmark said in a press release. We love a good mystery. This sounds like it’s going to be good.

Meanwhile, Grace (Jocelyn Hudon) has taken a second job to help provide better care for the children of the orphanage, and Lillian (Morgan Kohan) tries to make amends with Tess (Wendy Crewson), while Chuck (Greg Hovanessian) thinks he is helping Grace at her new job but she does not see it the same way. It sounds like Sunday will be full of must-see drama. Clear the schedule, and plan for dinner in front of the TV.
