As many are forced to push back their wedding plans amidst the coronavirus pandemic, some thoughtful couples are doing what they can to make the best of a difficult situation.

One such couple in New Braunfels, Texas, Kristall Goytia and Jason Oswald, decided to donate their wedding flowers to local assisted living homes after their March 21 wedding was postponed as the flowers had already been shipped. Per San Antonio’s KSAT-TV, the couple’s wedding flowers—100 bouquets hydrangeas, roses, along with some greenery mixed in—went to three assisted living facilities in neighboring Schertz so the residents could enjoy the fresh blooms (the couple couldn’t enter themselves due to visitation to these homes being prohibited amidst the current social distancing protocols).

“It was an emotional turning point for us, because it really put into perspective that these elderly (people), they’re isolated. They’re in their rooms, not able to, you know, see their families, and they’re not able to interact with each other,” Goytia told KSAT-TV. “To see the pictures really brought tears to our eyes. And you know, we were both just overfilled with joy,” she continues. Watch the full segment below.

One of the facilities that received the couple’s flowers, The Legacy at Forest Ridge, expressed their gratitude in a sweet Facebook post. “‘Oh, who are the people in your neighborhood?’…These are the beautiful people in our Legacy neighborhood! Thank you to Kristall Goytia for the donated flowers! Your kindness brought such joy to the residents today.”

And more flowers lie ahead for this kind-spirited couple: They shared with Good Morning America that they’ve rescheduled their wedding to Saturday, August 1.
