In the wake of Loretta Lynn’s death, country music’s biggest names have been paying tribute to the legendary singer. Dolly Parton, Reba, Darius Rucker, George Strait, Margo Price, and more paid homage to the Coal Miner’s Daughter. Now, John Carter Cash has paid his respects, too. Cash is the son of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, country legends in their own rights. He is also a country artist and reportedly recorded 150 songs with Lynn and knew her very well....

Mayor Tom Reid has been a fixture of the Pearland, Texas, government since the 1970s. The WWII veteran and former NASA contractor has enjoyed a non-consecutive, four-decade run as mayor of the Greater Houston city. Reid worked at Johnson Space Center from 1965-97, where he was part of a team that supervised and managed missions including Gemini and the Apollo. Reid, who also holds the distinction of being among the oldest mayors in the country, celebrated his 95th birthday on Wednesday....

Even with Mardi Gras parades canceled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, New Orleans is still finding a way to laissez les bons temps rouler this Carnival season. “Hire a Mardi Gras Artist,” the latest altruistic endeavor from Krewe of Red Beans, is a grassroots effort that aims to transform 40 Orleans Parish homes into Mardi Gras floats, putting laid-off artists back to work and inspiring the city along the way....

It’s been a year since Ree Drummond’s husband Ladd was injured in a scary accident on the family’s Oklahoma cattle ranch. Today, the television chef provided a highly requested update on her longtime love’s recovery. “Well, here we are one year later, and Ladd is doing great. Thinking back to that bad day in March of 2021, this is pretty remarkable. He’s lifting weights. He’s riding his horse. He’s feeding cattle and doing all the work on the ranch he always did,” Ree wrote in a blogpost....

On October 24 of this year, Scotty McCreery and wife Gabi welcomed their first child, Merrick Avery McCreery, whom they are calling Avery. Her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson on September 19, 1979 is no exception. YouTuber Gabriel Arrington and his girlfriend Kelly Young were nine miles off the coast of Stuart, Florida, last week when they spotted a leatherback sea turtle. The rare sighting turned their fishing expedition into an opportunity to share the awful impact of plastic pollution on sea life. The duo was capturing footage for Arrington’s YouTube channel, Bluegabe, when they came across a big patch of seaweed and garbage. “There’s so much plastic it’s insane,” Arrington says while reaching into the water and pulling out a large piece of plastic....
