Back again for another year, Bojangles’ has debuted Heart-Shaped Bo-Berry Biscuits through February 16th in honor of Valentine’s Day. With blueberries baked into the dough, these sweet biscuits get topped off with a rich vanilla icing drizzle and make for quite the dessert....

Adam and Liz met on an American Airlines flight on Mother’s Day in 2021. Starting Friday April 1, visitors to Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge in northwestern Oklahoma can dig for crystals in the refuge’s 13,000-acre salt flat. “Crystal digging is a great, free activity for people of all ages to walk on the salt flats, collect unique hourglass crystals and see wildlife,” Melissa Robell, visitor services specialist at Salt Plains National Wildlife Refuge, said in a statement to KOCO 5 News....

The fastest dog in America is a rescued mixed-breed and she lives in Crownsville, Maryland. Wailin’ Phelan The Bearded Lass, or simply Phelan, was crowned America’s fastest pup after besting 116 other dogs in the 2020 American Kennel Club Fast CAT Invitational in Orlando, Florida, back in December. The Fast CAT (Fast Coursing Ability Tests) competition is a 100-yard dash where dogs run one at a time, chasing a lure. Each competitor runs three times, and its speeds are converted into miles per hour then averaged....

The glassy surfaces of ponds and reflecting pools are nice additions to backyard landscaping. If your garden decor includes such a water feature, you’ll be able to add some pizzazz by planting water lilies. The beautiful blooms emerge in a rainbow of colors along with the green expanses of lily pads, making an altogether lovely scene. (Monet loved them, and we do too!) Some of our favorites to see blooming in the wild—or cultivated by gardeners—are peaches and cream water lilies, which produce pretty peachy blossoms in their watery environs....

After the starvation deaths of more than 1,000 manatees in Florida this year, federal and state wildlife officials are considering an unprecedented feeding plan to help the animals through the winter. This week, in a controversial and desperate move, environmental officials will unveil a proposal for test-feeding the marine mammals in one hard-hit location. “This unprecedented event is worth unprecedented actions,” Thomas Eason, assistant executive director of Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), said at a news conference on Wednesday, per The New York Times....

Austin’s slogan may be “Keep Austin Weird,” but Denton, Texas isn’t far behind.
