George Toma, 91, has prepared the fields for every Super Bowl ever played. While chickens are the ones to usually get the attention, Naples residents may have been wondering why it was that a turtle tried to cross the road. A man driving down U.S. 41 in Naples, Florida spotted a turtle trying to make a break for it across multiple lanes of traffic on a busy road, far from the ideal place to go turtle watching. A good Samaritan who is perhaps an animal lover—or at least someone who is fond of turtles—briefly stopped traffic and set about getting the little turtle to safety, local Florida news outlet, ABC 7 reports....

Happy birthday to Publix! The beloved Florida-based grocery store chain celebrated an impressive 90 years of business this week. George Jenkins, the late founder of the grocery empire, opened his first store, Publix Food Store, in Winter Haven on September 6, 1930—in the midst of the Great Depression. Another location followed in 1935, but Jenkins closed both stores to open his dream store, the first Publix Super Market, on November 8, 1940....
