There’s nothing worse than a fruit fly floating around in a just-poured glass of white wine or waking up with a mosquito bite smack-dab in the middle of your face. And don’t forget about the horror of painstakingly researching whether you have a termite infestation or just happen to be the lucky host of a family of flying ants (you’ll never unsee those Google Images results). Bugs have their place in our yards and gardens, but pass through our thresholds and they are persona non grata.
The Katchy insect trap uses a UV light to attract bugs that are then sucked in by a fan and trapped onto sticky glue boards at the base of the unit—completely out of sight. Turn the trap off and release the bottom door to remove a bug-splotched board and slot in a fresh, clean one. It’s as simple as that. It’s recommended to place Katchy near the pantry, a fruit bowl, trash can, or any area that sees a lot of bugs.
One reviewer didn’t know what to think, writing: “This item was exactly as described. I was pleasantly surprised/disgusted how well this thing actually worked. I had a problem with soil gnats in my house plants and this device caught more than I even realized there were.”
Because it works so well inside, you might be tempted to bring this beauty out to the porch or yard, but resist the urge as it’s strictly designed for indoor use. As for obnoxious house flies, this isn’t going to help with those. A good old-fashioned swatter and a few choice Southern colloquialisms might be your only armor for that battle.

The Katchy will never take the place of a professional pest control company’s services, but it can help eliminate those buzzy little creatures who manage to make it past the exterminator’s best line of defense.
